Keynote speaker in the 8th FICCI Higher Education Summit
Keynote speaker in the 8th FICCI Higher Education Summit, a two day Global Conference, on 5th & 6th November 2012 at FICCI, Federation House, New Delhi. The Summit brought together stakeholders including key policy makers, educationists and industry at both the national and international level for deliberations and knowledge sharing. The topic of debate was “sustaining cross-border partnerships” with more than 600 participating delegates, both national and international, from across the Education sector. Dr. Philip G. Altbach, Monan Professor of Higher Education and Director of the Center for International Higher Education at Boston College, was amongst one of the keynote speakers at the summit. The guest of honor for the summit was Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for Human Resource Development, India and Honourable Edward Fast- Minister of International Trade Canada. ICEF connects educators, education agents, work and travel professionals, and industry service providers to key markets and networks worldwide, supporting the growth and development of international education and global student mobility.

The delegation also comprised of Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources, Gerry Ritz, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Bal Gosal, Minister of State (Sport), and Tim Uppal, Minister of State (Democratic reform).
