Dionne Young
Class of 2027
Concentration: Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship (ELOE)
Dionne Young is a first-year master’s student in the Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship (ELOE) program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). Dionne is passionate about special education, global education, youth leadership development, and expanding opportunities for young people to become engaged, confident, and socially responsible leaders. Academically, Dionne is interested in how educational organizations, policies, and cross-cultural learning experiences can empower youth and strengthen communities around the world. At HGSE, Dionne is developing the leadership, strategic, and organizational skills needed to drive meaningful change in education systems and youth-serving organizations. Prior to HGSE, Dionne worked in education as a special education coordinator and teacher, supporting diverse learners and advocating for equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities. She also spent time working in the non-profit space supporting international students from Brazil and youth at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington DC. Dionne hopes to contribute to initiatives that equip young people with the skills, experiences, and global perspectives necessary to lead in an increasingly interconnected world. In spare time, Dionne enjoys traveling, exploring different cultures, reading, listening to podcasts, and mentoring young people.
Ivonne Galicia
Class of 2026
Concentration: Higher Education
Ivonne Galicia is an alumna of Harvard’s Graduate School of Education ELOE Master’s program. Academically, she is interested in student affairs, retention, and wellness, and is passionate about supporting first generation students and students of color as they navigate higher education. At HGSE, she served as Vice President of the Higher Education Student Association, engaging with peers around issues facing the field and building community among her cohort. Before coming to HGSE, she earned her B.A. in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley, with minors in Human Rights and Food Systems. She brought hands-on experience from roles including Retention and Wellness Director at the Bridges Multicultural Resource Center, work with the LA County Department of Public Health, and community organizing with Rising Communities. She hopes to build and lead programs that create belonging and equitable access for underrepresented students in higher education. In her spare time, she enjoys Baile Folklórico, running, and rock climbing.
Malaika Okugwe
Master’s of Education, Class of 2025
Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education
Malaika Ogukwe is a consultant, coach, and recent graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education whose work centers somatic movement, social-emotional well-being, and healing-centered leadership. Malaika’s career spans across consulting, tech, beauty, marketing and education, where she has developed strategic partnerships and programming. She curates events and learning experiences that hold space for teams and community members to explore themes of identity, transitions, and imagination. Through her personal practice and insights from living in Denmark, Portugal, and Kenya, she offers opportunities for participants to experience the healing power of movement, breath, and collective dreaming. In her free time, she enjoys hosting loved ones, dancing, and spending time outdoors.
Yuricela Rosas
Class of 2026
Concentration: Higher Education
Yuricela has recently become an alumna of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, with a concentration in Higher Education. Born and raised in California, she previously attended the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating in June 2025. Throughout college, Yuricela has gained experience through various roles and high-impact practices, including New Student Orientation, New Student Mentor, Studying Abroad in Colombia, and Camp Director in Abu Dhabi & Thailand, among others, which has helped her learn from mentors and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds. Yuricela is passionate about college access and success through practices including diversity, equity, and belonging. Being a first-generation college student, she hopes to prioritize holistic college student development, build comunidad, and support navigation capital. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the city with her friends, roller skating, and hiking.
