There isn’t much awareness about the career choices or the benefits associated with creative courses. Applying for these fields do not typically have the stringent standards of admission and require a different set of criteria to be successful in application.

Many schools do not require SAT or ACT’s for admission. They assess you on your high school grades and your portfolio. They will evaluate a collection of your work to evaluate your potential talent and this will be followed by an interview in most cases.

If you are interested in a creative, Art + Design degree, you are required to present a portfolio. A portfolio is a collection of your work that reflects your accomplishments, skills, experiences, and attributes in the related field. It highlights and showcases samples of some of your best work, along with life experiences, values, and achievements. A portfolio is one of the most important parts of your application and reflects your creativity and skills which help the universities decide if you are the right student for the program.
