Note: Georgia residents include students attending high school in Georgia or legal Georgia residents living elsewhere. Non-residents include international applicants.
To be considered for academic scholarships — such as the Scheller Dean’s Scholarship or the Stamps President’s Scholars Program — students must apply either Early Action I or II, depending on residency. No additional application is required for these scholarships.
Early, Rolling, and Regular Decision Options
Georgia Tech offers non-binding Early Action and Regular Decision rounds. It does not offer Early Decision (binding) or rolling admissions.
Waitlisted Applications
If you apply for a Regular Decision, you may be admitted, denied, or waitlisted. For Fall 2024 admissions, 201 out of 6,481 waitlisted students were eventually admitted. If you’re waitlisted, you must decide whether to accept your spot — but note that admission from the waitlist is rare.
Deferrals
Students who apply via Early Action may be deferred. Deferred applications are reconsidered during the Regular Decision round. If this happens, you must:
