The University of Debrecen is proud to offer more than 80 degree programs fully taught in English: including International Foundation Year, various types of English Language Courses, Undergraduate, Graduate, and other programs.
The University of Debrecen has the second-largest student body in the nation in total and the highest number and proportion of international students (21%, respectively). The most popular choices for the majority of them continue to be in medical fields. UD offers almost 80 courses taught entirely in English (with solidly increasing numbers) on every academic level (BA/BSc, MA/MSc, and PhD).
Medical Programs
Medicine: MBBS/ MD
Duration: 6 years
Tuition fees: USD 16,900 per year
Admission Requirements: high school certificate; entrance examination in biology and physics/chemistry
Dentistry
Duration: 5 Years
Tuition fees: USD 17,500 per year
Admission Requirements: high school certificate; entrance examination in biology and physics/chemistry
Pharmacy
Duration: 5 Years
Tuition fees: USD 8000 per year
Academic requirements: high school certificate; entrance examination in biology and physics/chemistry
The programs are taught in English.
The Programs are accredited by Hungarian Accreditation Board which is part of the European Accreditation Board.
Medical programs are accredited by the World Health Organization (WHO), the State Education Department (NY, USA), Medical Board of California, Medical Councils of India (a qualifying exam is compulsory), General Medical Council (UK) Israel, Ireland, Iran, Norway and the United Arab Emirates.
The Hungarian Accreditation Committee has been awarded Recognition Status by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) until 31 March 2032. This recognition status confers the understanding that the quality of medical education is to an appropriate and rigorous standard.
Medical graduates of the University of Debrecen are NOT required to take the PLAB exam for practicing in the UK.
