Programs

Over 400 choices for specializations, majors and minors. Western offers a common first year where students apply to the faculty level or direct entry programs below and declare their major at the end of their first year.

Admission requirements

  • Competitive high school grades
  • Specific subject requirements for the chosen program

Tuition & living cost

  • Most of the programs – CAD 44,000 (INR 27 lakh) per year
  • BMOS – CAD 55,000 (INR 34 lakh) per year
  • Engineering – CAD 60,000 (INR 37 lakh) per year
  • Living cost – CAD 15,000 (INR 10 lakh ) per year

Scholarships

  1. International President’s Entrance Scholarship
    • 3 available at $50,000 CAD
    • Application required, Due February 14
    • Looking for strong academics, extracurricular activities and leadership
  2. Western’s Admission Scholarships
    • $2,500 to $8,000 CAD
    • No application required, based on admission and/or final average
  3. President’s International Admissions Scholarships
    • $25,000 CAD
    • No application required, apply and submit documents by March 15
    • Preference given to students from underrepresented regions
  4. Arts and Humanities Faculty Scholarships
    • Every student receives a scholarship valued $2,000 -$2,500 depending on admission average

Application information

  • Western offers a September full-time intake or a part-time May summer session. No January intake.
  • Apply on the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) www.ouac.on.ca
  • Applications open in October for the following September.
  • You can apply for up to 3 programs at Western
  • Application Fees: CAD 156 for 3 choices, $93 CAD Western Assessment fee, $10 CAD fee for international applicants, and $50 CAD for every additional choice.
  • Equal Consideration deadline for 105 applicants: March 1

Experiential learning

  • Opportunities for experiential learning through co-ops, internships or practicums are available in every program providing opportunities to gain work experience during your studies.
  • Additional options include: Community-engaged learning, international exchange and study abroad and entrepreneurship
  • Shorter placements range from 10 weeks to 4 months
  • Longer placements range from 8 to 16 months
