The Canada Student Visa is required for individuals who wish to travel to Canada for higher education. The completed application form and all required supporting documents must be submitted with the application. The applicant will be required to pay the applicable visa fee once the application is submitted. The application requires applicants to schedule an interview with the Canadian Embassy/Consulate.

Following payment of the visa fee: The final step in the visa application process, the visa interview, determines whether the visa is granted or denied. And interview questions could be as follows,

  • Have you been to Canada before?
  • Why did you choose Canada?
  • Why did you choose that particular college/university?
  • Have you applied for any other college/university?
  • Which program will you be joining and why?
  • Who is going to cover your expenses in Canada?
  • Where did you complete your previous studies?
  • What does your father/mother do?
  • Are you traveling with someone or alone?
  • Do you have any relatives/friends in Canada?
  • Where do you stay in India?
  • Where will you be staying in Canada?
  • Do you plan to work in Canada?

In reference to the above questions, it is well seen that when going for visa interview, the student needs to be thorough of the chosen university program such as duration, campus and study modules etc.., about the university and its facilities and special features, its location, the reasons for choosing Canada as the study destination, where the student has the completed previous studies, about financials such as how much funds he has to cover his living expenses in Canada and what is the source of his funds, what do the parents do, if married what does the spouse do, if the student is travelling alone or will be accompanied by someone else, if the student has anyone known in Canada, students accommodation plan in Canada and  if the student plans to work in Canada while studying.
