Vandana Mahajan, Director, Futures Abroad, writes on the seven major reasons as to why you should study in Europe
With the long-standing history of high-quality Education, Europe is home for world class universities. European countries have many universities and they are all very different in terms of language, costs and lifestyle. However, under the Bologna Process, European universities are working together to standardise their degree systems.

7 Reasons why you should study in Europe

1. Study in Europe to give a boost to your career:

International experience is an important aspect of gaining quality education. Europe is very welcoming and is a safe destination for international students who are offered high quality education. In fact, while recruiting, many of the companies worldwide actively look for or give greater weightage to a person who has an international study experience. Therefore study in Europe will give you the necessary skills, knowledge and experience that employers value. With strong international business experience, inventive and research sectors, Europe is an extraordinary place to build your amazing career.

Europe is very welcoming and is a safe destination for international students who are offered high quality education.

2. Stay back option available after you study in Europe

Many European countries offer foreign graduates the facility to stay in Europe after they finish their study in their respective universities. That means if you decide to study in Europe, there is a fair chance that you will get a job offer and can stay for the longer term in Europe. You will get a 1.5-year work permit visa upon graduation. This is like staying back and seeking work in Europe for 18 months. If you manage to  secure a job after your study in Europe, you will work your way towards securing your residency. The 18 months begin as soon as you receive your final examination results, so you should start looking for employment during your final semester. In these 18 months after your study in Europe, you can work as much as you like and take up any kind of employment to support yourself.

3. Study in Europe because Europe offers world-class education

Many European universities have climbed the world ranking and are now in the list of Top 100 universities world-wide. The best part of studying in Europe is that Europe offers many career choices. Europe has world-class universities, higher education institutions and research institutes. Short-term study opportunities are there in Europe if you want to study there, you can choose the skill and knowledge that suits your interest.

4. A wide range of education options if you wish to study in Europe

European universities offer a wide range of programs. They offer 1000s of Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and PhD/Doctoral programmes. While studying in Europe, international students are welcome to join any of these programs based on their past academic background and grades.

5. You have access to the whole continent when you study in Europe

You have the opportunity to explore all the 26 European countries if you choose to study in Europe. The different countries of Europe are very well connected with short travel time, cheap travel options via flight, bus or train. This gives you an option of exploring other countries in Europe more than once to enhance your learning experience. It’s easy to obtain a visa as a student allowing you to visit other Schengen countries.

6. The higher education system of Europe is well aligned and respected

The Bologna process of reforms have aligned the higher education systems of all European countries. This means that any Bachelor or Masters in Europe follows the same framework. While studying in Europe, if you obtain your Master’s degree in Sweden, it will be equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Germany, Lithuania or the UK.

7. Medium of instruction is in English when you study in Europe

You can study in English language in Europe. The quality of instruction in English language is very high. Knowing the language of the country you study is important, but if you don’t know the basics in Polish or Swedish, you can always get by with English language in everyday situations.
