Details of the NEW Graduate Visa Route 2021:
With the increase in the number of international student applications to the UK, the government has opened the Graduate Route for international students on July 1st, 2021.
This route is for students who want to work following the successful completion of the degree program at the Bachelor’s degree level or above. This route will allow the UK to retain the best and the brightest talent post Brexit.
The Graduate Visa Route is unsponsored which means students DON’T need a job offer to apply. They simply need to have completed their Bachelor or Masters or Doctoral/ PhD in the UK. The students can stay for a 2-year period after completion of their degree to look for a job. This program has no minimum salary requirements to apply. There are also NO caps on the number of applicants that will be accepted into the program. It is open to all international students who are pursuing their higher education at a recognized academic institution in the UK.
The graduates can work flexibly, change jobs or progress in their career as required. This is to keep the talent who chose to study in the UK to stay back and contribute to the economy and their society.
The students accepted in the route will be able to look for work after completing their studies for a maximum period of two years after completing their Bachelor of three years for Doctoral or Ph.D. students.
The Graduate route will work throughout the UK including England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Students who began their studies in Autumn 2020 will have until June 21, 2021, to enter the UK in order to be eligible for the Graduate route. Students who began their studies in January or February 2021 will need to be in the UK by Sept. 27th, 2021.
